Mole-Cyst-Removal

Bothersome lesions including cysts, moles, skin tags, lipoma, or Dermatofibroma, can be painful, annoying and unsightly but are not life threatening therefore not treated by your GP.

Here at Ministry of Aesthetics our Plastic Surgeon can remove these lesions for you. These can be removed in multiple ways, depending on size and location. Although most removals will leave scarring, we use unique techniques to give the most aesthetically pleasing results, with minimum scarring. With all our minor surgery’s you will be able to go home straight after surgery.

Cyst Removal

Sebaceous cysts occur around glands located in the skin which become blocked resulting in the build-up of sebum, dead skin and keratin. Cysts can occur anywhere on the body and can cause
discomfort or embarrassment. Cysts are not life threatening, but if left untreated a cyst can become infected, which could cause
pain and further complication. Cyst removal will involve local anaesthetic to completely numb the site, then remove the cyst-sac
whole and reduce the chance of re-occurrence, the site will then be stitched close using both internal dissolvable sutures and an outer layer of sutures to give minimal scarring.

Lipoma Removal

Lipoma are benign fatty growths which can continue to grow without treatment. Lipoma can appear anywhere on the body and can cause discomfort or embarrassment. Lipoma are not life threatening but continue to grow removing them early on will reduce the size of excision and scarring.
Lipoma removal will involve local anaesthetic to completely numb the site, then remove the lipoma whole and reduce the chance of re-occurrence, the site will then be stitched close using both internal dissolvable sutures and an outer layer of sutures to give minimal scarring.

Mole Removal

Moles are dark pigmentation or irregularities found in the skin, which can appear raised and of various shapes and become darker in colour over time, moles can become itchy, sore and even bleed, which can lead some individuals to have them removed. Mole removal for aesthetic purposes isn’t usually available on the NHS.
Mole removal will involve local anaesthetic to completely numb the site, then depending on size and location will either be removed by excision then stiches to leave minimal scarring or shaved which
involved a scalpel to scrap the mole away and cauterized.

Skin tag or dermatofibroma

Skin tags are small, soft, skin-coloured growths on your skin. They can vary in colour and size. Dermatofibroma are a common type of benign skin tumor that is small, slow-growing, typically firm,
red-to-brown bump. Skin tag removal and dermatofibroma removal depending on size and location to the method used. Either will involve local anaesthetic to completely numb the site, then depending on size and location will either be removed by excision then stiches to leave minimal scarring or shaved which involved a scalpel to scrap the mole away and cauterized.
